How TinyFirewalls Works
TinyFirewalls is a safe, community-led space where parents, carers, teachers and safeguarding professionals can share experiences, ask questions, and support one another.
1. Create Your Account
You only need an email address to register. You can choose your own username — no real names are required.
Your email address is not displayed publicly. Only your chosen username is visible to other members.
2. Join a Group
Groups are focused spaces organised by topic — for example:
- Social Media
- Gaming
- Screen Time
- Online Scams
- Cyberbullying
Joining a group allows you to follow and participate in discussions that matter to you and your family.
3. Start a Topic of Discussion
A topic is simply a question, concern, experience or helpful resource you would like to share.
You can:
- Ask for advice
- Share a news article
- Describe a situation you’re dealing with
- Post a tip that worked for your family
If you’re unsure which group to post in, choose the closest match — moderators can move it if needed.
4. Reply and Support Others
You can reply to discussions, share your experiences, and offer practical advice. This community grows through respectful, supportive conversations.
Community Guidelines
- Be respectful and supportive — this is a judgement-free space.
- Do not share personal details such as children’s names, schools, or addresses.
- Do not post identifiable images of children.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police (999) or the appropriate authority.
TinyFirewalls grows through member discussions. Your experience could help another family.
